Interferential Electro-Therapy

Is a therapeutic treatment to aid in the relief of pain and the promotion of soft tissue healing.  Tiny amounts of electrical impulses are induced into the tissues in the vicinity of the injury.  Where these waves intersect below the surface of the skin, a low-frequency stimulation is created.  This prompts the body to secrete endorphins and other natural pain killers to help relieve pain.

Intersegmental Traction

Is a way of inducing passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints, increasing mobility.  The patient lies face up on a bench table which has roller-type cams beneath its surface.  These rollers can slowly travel the length of the spine, stretching spinal joints.  The gentle rolling action is restful, exercising the spine without effort.

Cold Laser Therapy

Is based on photochemical and photo biological effects in cells and tissues.  With laser light “certain cell functions are stimulated,” especially the increase of a cell’s ATP energy, and the production of proteins.  Cold laser therapy is used to treat a wide variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal aches and pains.   The Erchonia Medical Laser that is used by Dr. Porter made medical history on January 17, 2002, by being the first low level laser in the United States to be given marketing clearance by the FDA for the treatment of chronic neck and shoulder pain.  

EB Cellular Cleanse Therapy

Is based on bioenergetics technology, creating an energy field similar to the energy produced by the human body.  This field stimulates cellular energy and enhances the body’s ability to internally cleanse itself naturally, at an increased rate, restoring and normalizing the body’s correct ph balance and energy levels.  The EB cleanse uses an aqeous solution (water & sodium chloride) in a foot bath as a conduit for exchanging ions.  The energy field created within the body draws negative and positive ions together, helping negate their harmful effect while gently stimulating cellular cleansing.

As a patient of Dr. Porter's, you can expect to receive some training during your chiropractic appointment to help you manage your pain and maintain your health at home. This usually includes stretches and an exercise “prescription” that are designed to maximize the benefits of your chiropractic treatment.
